Hello my name is Nazahah Booth and today I interviewed Phoebe Johnson. Not only is she a member of the CSA, she also works for the CSA. Her part in the CSA is to manage all of the sites for the farmer’s markets and so she is the Breezy Hill Manager at Essex Market. Phoebe is from Long Island where she used to farm and garden, that’s how she became interested in the CSA. She wanted the local New Yorkers to have fresh fruits and vegetables in the community. Her favorite produce from the market is the cherries and the spinach. Phoebe feels that green house products are okay for all year round but she prefers organic because it taste better and is better for the environment.
Hello my name is Nazahah Booth and today I interviewed Desiree Rodriguez. Desiree lives on Mott Street and Houston Street and is a member of the CSA. Desiree found out about the CSA through advocating at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Desiree’s favorite produce from the farmer’s market are the tomatoes, edamame, and the lettuce. Desiree is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and when she’s not working, she is gardening in the community garden on Houston. She plants and grows flowers and herbs. Desiree prefers organic products to green house products because it’s better for the environment and also tastes better. Desiree also contributes to the Lower East Side Girls Club and she used to be our health consultant.
